Legong Keraton Dance

 

In legend, Legong is a heavenly dance of divine nymphs. Of all classical Balinese dances, it remains the quintessence of femininity and grace. Girls from the age of five aspire to be selected as Legong dancers.

The most popular of Legong dances is the Kraton. Formerly, the dance was patronized by local rajas and held in a palace. Dancers were recruited from the prettiest children.  

Baris Dance/Warrior Dance

 

Baris literally means warrior formation. Baris is

a warrior dance usually danced by a man. The

movements are dramatic and very energetic, 

both the dancer and the music are in a very 

upbeat and dynamic.
